Uniform

At Burton Borough School WE BELIEVE

uniform plays a key role in shaping the culture and expectations of our academy. School uniforms help to define the ethos of an academy, and the standards expected

They help give students pride in their academy and make them ambassadors for the school in the wider community. As an academy, we have designed our uniform to be as inclusive as possible while also remaining cost-effective for parents and carers. We have kept branded or named items to a minimum and ensured that our uniform can be purchased from a range of providers at affordable prices.

Our Expectations

It is our academy policy that all students wear full uniform:

  • When attending school
  • When travelling to and from school
  • When participating in academy-organised events outside of normal school hours

We expect students to maintain high standards in their appearance at all times.

The academy receives Pupil Premium funding for eligible students and maintains a hardship fund to help subsidise the cost of compulsory uniform in exceptional circumstances. If you would like to request financial assistance, please contact your child’s Head of Year in writing.

If you are unsure about any aspect of our uniform policy or would like further guidance, please refer to our full Uniform Policy document or contact the school office.
